History:
Cobra Records was founded in early 2010 by music enthusiast Jack Vanstone, seeking a career in the music industry Jack ventured out to see what could be done to express his love of music and music making with others. At the age of just 17 he began to think of ways to link various music professionals and brand new amateur Dj's together. It was just a few short months later that Cobra Records was established, beginning with the website www.cobrarecords.info which was the start of something much bigger. After settling on the name and the concept Jack got to work registering the company and other various domains such as Youtube/Soundcloud/Twitter and others and hey presto a network was born.
The concept and how it happened:
Cobra Records was run entirely by Jack himself and up to this day he still does the majority of the work, beginning this venture by promoting existing music for free a small following began to emerge and from this stemmed other small pockets of followers that began to expand rapidly. The idea at this point was forming itself, the idea to promote music of a specific genre to a large following was nothing new it had been done before, however no one is as meticulous and precise in what they do as Jack himself.
After adventuring in his own music career and he was comfortable with his musical ability he began extending promotional copies of big dance and electro tracks from famous artists such as Alesso and Hardwell.
2011:
In 2011 Cobra Records signing new artists was about to become paramount in Cobra's endeavours. The label Venom was then collapsed into the parent company Cobra Records to make a joint promotion company and record label. Cobra Records is currently signing to a new distributor giving the label access to stores such as Beatport iTunes and dance-tunes.
