CNN Radio New Day: October 25, 2012

Welcome to CNN Radio News Day.

Here are some of the stories we cover in today's edition:

* Bank of America is being sued for mortgage fraud. The allegations come after a whistle-blower came forward. Bank of America is denying the charges. It's just the latest in a number of cases involving whistle blowers. Their numbers are growing as new programs aimed at reducing fraud on Wall Street are up and running. But some still pay a price for doing good. Jim Holzrichter is one of them. Federal agent Richard Zott came to his house after Holzrichter found irregularities with his employer, a defense contractor. Zott had heard about it and said he wanted to talk.

“I told him that if he had information and he wasn’t going be cooperative, that I would be coming to see him the next time with handcuffs,” says Zott.

* The Air Force wants to rebuild a fence around earth, but there are no posts to put in or barbed wire to string. It's an expensive project to keep us safe from tens of thousands of pieces of man-made garbage in our atmosphere, things like old dead satellites and bits of abandoned space equipment.

" It's a series of radars down on earth beaming up into space. It creates a fence, a giant mesh." says CNN Senior National Security Producer, Mike Mount.

* A United Nations report out this week sheds new light on the increased isolation the Iranian government is imposing on its people. The author of the report is Ahmed Shaheed, a UN Special Rapporteur on Iran. He says despite pressure from around the world, nothing in Iran is changing

"On the whole the human rights situation in the country remains disturbing," Shaheed says.
