Chuck B has been a heavy hitter in the Grande Prairie electronic scene since 2005. Heavily influenced by hip-hop at an early age, Chuck B’s very first album was Wu Tang’s 36 Chambers, and it was all up from there. From a legendary residency at Grande Prairie’s renowned Utopia Nightclub ripping up wicked vinyl sets, to working as a promoter bringing in many of the biggest names GP has ever seen such as, Krafty Kutz, A-Skillz, Nick Thayer, JPod, Bryx, Stickybuds, J-Roc, Small Town DJs, Fort Knox Five, Will Bailey, Dj Pump, Shamik, Dj Shortee, Pimpsoul, Niebour, Wakcutt, Zeds Dead, Global Deejays, Josh The Funky 1, Dj Enrie, Mea, Bad Boy Bill, Mama Miche, Will Bailey, Propa Tingz, Timothy Wisdom, Basement Freaks, JFB, Busta, Kraddy, Dj Woody, MooQee, Featurecast, Freddy J, Southern Swagger, DJ Degree, DJ Shortee, Mat the Alien, and DJ Rectangle. Chuck B is now adding playing top festivals of Western Canada to his credentials. And, in keeping true to Chuck B tradition, he is again mastering one of the hottest new genres on the dance floor. But while Trap is a brand new game to many, the genre is hardly that to Chuck, instead just hip-hop with a sick bassline to the seasoned hip-hop veteran.
Chuck B is influenced by the likes of A-Trak, Will Bailey, Nick Thayer, Craze, Klever, Jack Beats, AC Slater, Pimpsoul, Slynk, Aphrodite, Freaky Flow, Luminox, Wu-Tang Clan, Notorious BIG, Tupac, Big L, Kanye West, T.I, Young Jeezy. At any of the parties he plays you can expect he’ll be pumping out club bangers and dance floor favorites, but on his own time you can find Chuck B laying down a dynamic, more alternative sound that has been a staple in the Grande Prairie electronic scene for years.
