This page presents the music of Christos Gavanas, 1976-2001. Christos was about to release his album in 2001 but died unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident before he had a chance to introduce his sounds to the world. Before his death Christos had been active as an electronic music producer for a few years. As a matter of fact, the night he died Christos was working on a new track and was on his way to play it to a friend. He died with his music on a floppy disc in his pocket and noone has ever listened to it.
In 2011 Meerkat Recordings (Gavana and Aimnbreak) will remaster and release Christos album, and until then we will release some remixes of Christos tracks by Gavana, Aimnbreak and DJplaneten. This way Christos will be among us and remembered through the presence and impact of his sounds.
This remix/remaster/release project is undertaken by his sisters, Anna and Elin Gavanas, and Peter Ericson (Aimnbreak). The project is made possible because Elin has saved Christos computer for all these years and brought it with her wherever she moved. It is also made possible because Peter was able to open the computer, save the hard drive and restore Christos original files.
