Born and raised in a suburban Connecticut town, Christopher Reyne spent over a decade playing various roles in numerous indie rock bands up and down the eastern seaboard, as well as recording and producing a handful of other artists. After a relocation to Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2011, he began laying down the tracks that make up "A Stranger at the Wheel", his most ambitious release to date.

Recorded almost entirely in solitude in his studio apartment as well as late nights inside of a hat shop, the album boasts haunting melodies, poignant lyrics, and crafted soundscapes that can be likened to the sounds of such artists as Death Cab for Cutie, Elliott Smith, and Radiohead. Nate Manware; a lifelong friend and co-collaborator; provided drums on the album, mastered by audio wizard Doug Van Sloun (Bright Eyes, Cursive, The Faint, She & Him).
