About

Hey, I have just set up new Facebook and Soundcloud pages so if you could click the Facebook icon above or this link:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-McDonald/307987529261166?sk=app_178091127385
and like my page it would be greatly appreciated! Please get in touch if you think we might be able to collaborate, what an amazing development that people from all over the world can make music together...

I make acoustic guitar music which is a mixture of folk and soul with songwriting somewhere in-between Fink and Laura Marling with touches of Mumford and Sons, the ambience of Bon Iver and the vocal brush of The Fleet Foxes, Patrick Watson and Ray Lamontagne.

I am always up for feedback good and bad so feel free to send me an honest message with any thoughts you have about my music...

I'm originally from Nottingham and now share my time between Nottingham, London and Stoke-On-Trent. For the last year I have been trying to write with new artists on the scene while working on my own debut album. I have had a great time writing with artists such as Liam Bailey. Liam is very talented and had a top ten single 'Blind Faith' with Chase and Status in 2011. I wrote 'It's Not the Same' with him which was no 1 in the playlist of one of LAs biggest radio stations KCRW over christmas. Zane Lowe commented that he 'loved' it and that it was 'proper, modern soul'. Live I've been gallivanting at venues such as the Half Moon, The Rhythm Factory supporting Pete Doherty, The Bedford, the Electro Acoustic Club and the Borderline. BBC radio 6's Tom Robinson was nice enough to say that 'Toast to the Saviours' was 'absolutely gorgeous' and said it was good enough to sit easily on a 'Ray Lamontagne' album. Listen and feedback my good people. I've now finished my debut album and am hoping 2012 lets more and more people hear it and come and see me play live...
