Considered by many to be a founder of the mash-up movement, Z-Trip’s musical tastes are eclectic and his mixing style mirrors that eclecticism. His early independent releases have become highly sought after collectibles. Uneasy Listening, the collaboration with DJ P, was one of the first of its kind fusing classic 80s pop and disco with classic hiphpo breaks and the original records they sampled.
This is Z-Trip’s follow up to ‘The Obama Mix’ which had to have been the political musical podcast of 2008. Just when you thought politicaly-charged musical podcasts were few and far between in 2008 (were there any?) Z drops this follow up to celebrate Obama’s victory over John McCain.
This is a clever mix and one that captures the mood and sentiment of America and the world pretty succinctly : relief and hope for a new direction.
this track makes me happy, even though this things have never been myy type of style...
