These are all unfinished, unmastered tracks which may or may not make it onto the next album.

The first track is dark and moody, inspired by Massive Attack's Teardrop, Dust Bros' Fight Club soundtrack and the grainy atmospheric sounds of Burial. Before I release it, I'll run the bass tracks through some extensive click/pop removal. I didn't used to mind clicks and pops that much, but my friend and sometime collaborator Dave Hill started pointing out clicks in various recordings. Since then, he's ruined me! I hear clicks and pops as audio flaws in recordings, the same way a chef might see a fly in their soup.

The second track starts with a funky Rhodes vamp on tonic minor chords a minor third apart. Later, it hits on a kind of spiritual meditative repetitive vamp and the drums fade away, leaving just bass and Rhodes. I like all the squeaks and intimate Rhodes noises I got out of this recording, especially towards the end.

The third track has a bumping party drum groove clocking at 108 BPM. It revolves around a simple synth (and later bass) pattern, with Fender Rhodes again being the spotlight. The Rhodes performance is entirely one take, improv, inspired heavily by Brad Mehldau who I had seen recently. I really liked his minimalist repetition of the tonic while playing melodies and basslines.
