Deep in a kitchen on Irma Street in Austin, Texas, Parisian born and bred Philippe Beer-Gabel launched the project with bassist Will Krause and drummer Zack Humphrey. Since then they have called upon an assortment of talented musicians from France to the U.S.A via London. For the February-March 2013 US tour they are joined by British vocalist Anna Reuben. Their first EP – Trying to Change the Mind of America, has been recorded at French National Radio in Paris and mixed and mastered at Cacophony Recorders in Austin TX.
Château Nowhere is a graceful turbulence of epic indie rock. A unique sonic metamorphosis of dissonance with reminiscent echoes of the early sounds of Blonde Redhead and groovier Deerhoof. The band evokes a French melancholy enlightened with the disparate sounds of the Kantele; an amplified harp with 38 piano strings. A mystical wonder from Finland.
Château Nowhere merges an enchanting musical landscape with a thrilling and dramatic soundscape of guitar, bass, drums, strings enhanced with lush vocals.
