I began my journey in dance music in 1992 at the age of 8. My greatest childhood memories consist of listening to The Prodigy, Moby, and Terrorize, among others. I began writing music at a young age and fell into Jungle in January 1998. This high energy music inspired me to learn how to produce.
I plugged in my first DJ set up on my 15th birthday. Charly was born. It was a matter of months before I began playing Philly clubs and raves. I was blessed to meet a lot of helpful and inspirational people within the scene and was met with a lot of encouragement.

In 2001, Reid Speed approached me about an opportunity with Showtime Movie Network. A series about twelve DJs around the United States, featuring Reid Speed, Disco D, DJ Craze, DJ Icon, among others was being produced. I was 16 when it was filmed and it was released shortly after my 17th birthday. Looking back on it, it's quite a trip.

In 2005 I was trained in Logic by Texel of Quadrant and made some tunes with them. This was a game changer in my own production and Logic is the platform I continue to mess about with to this day.


I came out to Seattle in 2006 and fell in love with its scene. I have met some amazing people who have offered me life altering ideas that have changed my perspective on the world. I spent some time witting political music. That was fun. I don't know if I've got anything left to say about that stuff, though. I am still very anti-NWO, in more ways than you could ever imagine, and I have channeled this from my music into doing things in my every day life to make the world better, rather than just shouting about it on the Internets.

When I got pregnant I stopped writing music but spent a lot of time coming up with what I consider the best mixes of my DJing career. Check out Oneiric Emotion and Teres Seriatim. Freeborn can be found over at Mixcloud.com/Charly ;

Since my son has been born, I have been gathering inspiration to begin making music again.
