Very nice intro, cool groove (a bit "Incognito-ish") ... But, where is the smooth sax-solo, or frivolous flute solo? :)
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 18:47
@Roelant Hollander: Uhh, I am flattered by the Incognito comparison! :-) I don't know, I think it maybe needs some vocals. And well yeah, propably some horns and flutes too ;-)

This is an unfinished summer groove. It still needs some work and some vocals (and horns, maybe?) Rhodes, bass synth, guitar, tambourine, handclaps and drum sampling/programming by me. Some tracks, that I'm working on to get it started. More will follow soon! - And then she left for India (instr demo) Artwork

Genius... u gotta describe this a little. You are the one man band? I'm a big fan from the first second ;)
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 18:40
@dtunez: It's just me! There are five voices: Tenor saxophone, alto saxophone (in the last verse), rhodes, a bass synth and programmed drums (they are played "live" on an mpc-style-pad). I'm glad, you like it, I think it's a cute melody :-)

Very cool piece! Very well played ... smooth, jazzy ... all written and performed by you (as written on your profile) ... at the age of 21 ... damn, I wish at that age, or even in present time, I could cook-up something like this all by myself ... respect!
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 18:42
@Roelant Hollander: Thanks a lot! Yeah, it's just me in five layers.. :-)

Dopest break!
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 18:03
@troelsim: Thank you! Saxophones are always dope in breaks. Maybe it's a bit long? I mean before the drums come back..

Very groovy composition, cool voice! ... I do miss a bit of "warmth" in the overall sound, maybe you can try to work on that when mixing/mastering the track ...
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 18:17
@Roelant Hollander: Thank you! Yeah, I agree about the warmth, but I'm not really sure how to fix it. I'm really more of a musician/composer, than I am a producer. Also, I think it can be difficult to make the drums sound warm, if they are sampled from scratched, worn out old records. Do you have any quick tips EQ-wise? :-)
- Roelant Hollander on October 29, 2009 08:25
@Charlie Loud: Well, "quick" tips do not really exist when you mix and master sound, patience is required for these things ;) ...

Damn this is funky shit. And kinda jazzanova-ish with the flute and horns and the overall sound.
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 17:56
@troelsim: Uhh, Jazzanova = 100% dopeness!!

@Roelant Hollander: Thanks! I am hoping for maybe some Nneka like vocals or something. Or I might sing myself. We'll see :-)

Quality Stuff throughout your whole page - Music Afficiniado to the fullest extent, i guess. Catchy on the hooks and everything your stuff reminds me of tuomo :)
- Charlie Loud on October 28, 2009 17:53
@moon_at: Thanks, man! I really like Tuomo (well at least the ourselves 7" -that's all I have), so that's a great compliment for me :-)
