Bio...
From listening to Hip Hop.
Since the age Of 8 up until my grown years as of now.
I have developed the skills needed to produce my own beats.
Ive always taken hip hop in a serious nature from the golden era of hip hop to what it is today.
I tend to spend my free time finding new hiphop tracks from the old. (when I have a back track day) to the new ones that come out.
Finding new artists in hip hop use to be difficult.
You would have to go to gigs or parties where you knew someone new would be featured.
It use to be all about word of mouth and human networking.
Taking train, bus or car.
But the internet has changed this.
For the better?
Who knows, all I know is I've found dozens upon dozens of new rap artists from the internet and all over the world.(but particularly in america) so. To me this has made the internet very useful, in my spare time.
After immense blabber from myself i make it a priority to look for new artists becuase majority of the time I'll be hearing new production, this then influences me to make my own sound. Or at least implement what i hear into my own customised edition. Whetha it be tweaking a drum kit or keeping it the same as the default.
If it sounds good with the preset. Why change it?
Devotion to Orchestra..
Ahh..
Remembering what specific orchestra oriented piece made me shiver is a difficult one. By shiver i mean give you that sensational feeling when you hear something magical or emotionally relevant on the track. It can be from Bert Kaempfert to Massive Attack to the Verve to Oasis. All have had a powerful influence ova my ears.
And are what influnced me to bring in strings with hiphop.
Yep.. I'm sure your saying it's already been done by many producers before. But have you seen a producer do it consistently as if it where one genre? The answer is no! That's where I step in with the genre Hip-Hop Orchestration.
My Sound...
My Sound can be described as a short movie piece/Mixed with very selective percussion... Some of my instrumentation has been said to sound and feel like a orchestrated piece.
Majority of the time I tend to go into depth when it comes to the Strings... It tends to bring a great movement into my music, almost this type of musical authority/classical feel even. Than Again... With the Hip Hop influence it tends to add that balance of Banging Beats with my own made classical sound. so then the listener is caught between the two.
Having a good beat to nod too aswell as hearing something that could potentially get them hooked to the beat, which is the strings.
Another great attribute hidden in my music is ambience...from ambient music i tend to construct atmosphere in my music based upon this principle.
These particular sounds can range from voices such as female choirs to monk choirs or even the beach boy choir. These definitely set the tone.
Where I'm At Now...
Currently Spending My Time And Effort in My Music Team Golden Age (G.A.P.T - Stands for Golden Age Production Team)
The Team Consists Of Two Producers.
Peter Davis also known as 'Da Letter P' and Tolodius P.
Then myself. Calvin A Mckoy also known as Charles Brompton, BirthMan, illionaireboy and Prince C.A.M
We Both Can Construct and Make Any Type Of Music When The Right Direction and Guidance from the artist is recieved. However, we both tend to have our own individual styles of production aswell, which is evident on our music myspace pages.
We Plan to release beat album's, all the beat album's we make and let out will be well constructed and will be based upon a theme of our choice.
With these beat album's lease's and Exclusive Right prices will apply if the production is to be used by an artist.
