"No matter how you call it, the sound lead the way" could be the motto lettered on the Chapkmace's burial. Born in the early 90's, Chapkmace was first rocked by the french hip-hop of his sisters. After his adolescent crisis marked by strange musical tastes, he finally realized that there were only two kinds of music: the good and the bad one.
At the age of 17, Chapkmace started DJing "for fun" and soon organized his own parties. Straight after, he bought his first vinyl and since then started a long digging travel into the deepness of music. His particular taste for 4/4 beats led him to his sophisticated love for groovy (and sometimes dark though) tunes somewhere between house and techno, hip-hop and rock. Because if there is one thing that could describe Chapkmace is to expect the unexpected. Both behind the deck or at his studio, Chapkmace always focus on his feeling of the moment and that's why he love to play music for people. In 2010 he created his own record label called dwntwn rcrd. It aim was to release good music from newcomers friends and give them the chance to rise together. In summer 2011, the whole roster had the chance to play twice in Paris, making them one of the forthcoming label to watch. After playing several huge gigs across Switzerland in 2012, he is now finishing a batch of new tracks you might hear in one of her set because as lazy as he can be, he always do the things well.
