- perfect for today’s evolved listener...
BIO: With an exciting and productive 10 year ride as a hard working professional electronic music producer, record label owner and vocalist under her belt and a definite knack for batting out track after track of sophisticated and cutting edge music, Celeste Lear is a truly tenacious and visionary artist of the digital age with an unquenchable thirst to create inspiring and groundbreaking new music to inspire her listeners. With a penchant for writing music that combines elements of pop and jazz with the newer genres of trip hop, downtempo, dance and drum & bass, this modern day singer songwriter creatively fuses unique melodies, edgy drum beats, luscious and luscious sonic layering with her personally reflective meaningful lyrics in music that has been likened to: Moby, Portishead, Massive Attack, Poe, Zero 7, Morcheeba, Fiona Apple and Nelly Furtado.
Of the same jet set clan as her high flying grandfather William P. Lear (who was also invented the 8-track cassette of the 60's) Celeste continues on the family's tradition of hard work, creative vision and a bit of flashy show off just for good measure. "It would only seem fitting that the granddaughter of the inventor of the 8-Track cassette would have music in her genes." (Editor, Reno Gazette Journal). Hailing from California's underground music scene with a set of career highlights that truly depicts today's modern female in the music industry such as: The opening of her own independent label Boutique Electronique Records in 2006, self producing, releasing and marketing 2 solo Albums ("The Echo Inside" and "Looking Up From Underwater") and 2 compilation CDs (Digital Bliss Volumes 1 and 2 - featuring strictly female talent from the electronic music world), extensive work as a remix artist, song placement on 10 different compilation CDs, obtaining a degree in sound engineering and music business, working as a music supervisor in Los Angeles and running and operating her own event sound and DJing business 2007-2010. All this plus she is deaf in her right ear from a car accident she endured when she was 16... not bad for a petite, classy, sassy one ear sound engineer!
She has most recently collaborated with producer Carmen Rizzo on a remix of her drum & bass track "Catch the Sun" and is gigging and touring with a 3 piece "Live" electronica band.
