Mahogany were one of the lesser known acts on West End. In fact, this was their only release on the label. Recorded in '82, this exemplifies the garage sound that was burgeoning and became the bridge between disco and house. The original version features the vocal's of Bernice Watkins who only had one other release on Salsoul 2 years later. We like the flip with it's sparse percussion, dubbed out vocals and slowly rolling bass. We've added some additional drums and worked on the arrangement to get it just right for the modern dancefloor.
