Abstracto No.2 for sine tones, noise and granular processes is a quiet and repetitive computer music work composed in 2009. The sound material of this work can be classified into three categories: 1) Long, sustained tones which are constructed by combining sine waves, 2) Short bursts of noise, 3) Swarms of a granular texture. The piece is dominated by quiet undulations with slowly evolving timbres (the sine tones) which invite the listener to hear the detail of the sound. However these undulations are sometimes interrupted by bursts of energy with extremely quickly changing sounds (noise and granular processes).
The sound material of Abstracto No.2 was constructed using Max/MSP and assembled into a larger form using Pro-Tools HD.
