Born in a rural town, Casey B. wasn't exposed to much hip hop. Around the age of five or six years old, he started listening to a local top 40 radio station, and quickly grew to love hip hop. Though many of the songs he was brought up on were mainstream hits, he soon began to discover numerous underground and indie artists. It wasn't until middle school that Casey began writing songs. However, as a result of some good-intended advice from his mother and constant heckling by some rural classmates, he temporarily gave up on that dream. After high school he was reunited with his aspirations, and with the help of his freshman dorm mate started writing once again. As of today, Casey is working hard at balancing music and school. Slowly but surely he's on his way to recognition, but his priority in music (and in life) is to change for no one but himself.
