About

When you listen to Carter Felker, you will be carried away to the days of yore, a time when railroads seperated lovers by geography, a time when cowboy's boots licked stirrups on stallions, and most evidently, a time when firewood was used for warmth, and strings were used for makin music. His songs are sketched by a naturalness and purity - similar to the way a tree bends in the wind. He compo
ses his songs on a mahogony martin 1500 m (with the occasional mouth harp) He is quite simply, a man with a guitar and a story to tell.

His brave poetics tell you the stories of cheatin', rambling, the language of a pine tree, and sorrowful heart plucking murder ballads. With lyrics like "Met up with a soldier / together we decided to roll / I hawked her ring for a winchester rifle / how I wish I would have hawked my soul." You can be certain you'll be entwined into the lives of cowboys, barmaids, widows, sons, daughters, and of course, lovers.

Born and raised in the Prairies, Carter Felker's eyes have seen the length of the wheat fields through many Winter mornings, and the stretch of the sun through many short lived Summers. He has labored, he has lost, and he has loved.

Carter uses his own experience, and his desire to tell a story to create honest, human-made, country music. Enjoy.
