About
‘My name is Carla Tagg, and my stage name is Carla May. I live in Doncaster and love to sing. I have been singing since I can remember but only started singing seriously in 2010, when I began to take lessons with Georgina Hill-Brown of Vocaltutor, Georgina is also my Manager.
My dream isn’t to be a famous pop star (although if that happened it would be amazing) all I want to do is sing. I definitely want a career in music. My manager Georgina is fantastic, she gives me lots of support and is always busy promoting me finding me gigs and helping me to improve my technique. I have a supportive family and friends and I wouldn’t be able to do this without them.
I am now regularly out gigging and entering competitions. I started doing a few gigs now and again performing 2 or 3 songs, now it’s 30 min sets, 45 min sets 1.5 hour sets, its amazing and it just seems to get better and better.
I have just finished recording my first original song which I co wrote with Georgina Hill-Brown and Dylan Charles Axup, it is to get it’s first radio play on Sine FM Doncaster’s local radio station in January.
In 2011 I released a cover version of ‘Annie’s Song’ as a single for The Sheffield Children’s hospice, which was commissioned by Butterfly Records. An article appeared in the Sheffield star, and was backed by Sheffield United FC fans, as they use the music from Annie’s song as their anthem, the single is available to download from iTunes now.
I have been number 1, for the last 4 months on Butterfly Records chart show.
Here are some of the competitions I have taken part in:
Hall Cross's Got talent - Winner
Forget me not factor - Finalist
Wakefields Got Talent - Finalist
Voice of Trinity Walk - Finalist
Junior Talent Search - Finalist
I am looking forward to 2012, working on my album, and performing
