About

Having an avid interest in everything science fiction from a very early age and inspired by the Tech drenched musical sound scape’s that tended to accompany most of the movies, CaRdIaC busied himself in the latter years at school ripping samples from Films and splicing them together in montages that he would play to his friends, in 1988 a move to Bournemouth saw CaRdIaC introduced to Hip Hop and Electro & Detroit Techno, listening to the likes of “flock of seagulls”, “ice T”, “Trans X”, “Grandmaster flash”, “Mantronix”, “derrick may”, “yellow magic orchestra”, “Juan Atkins” that would inspire him into early experiments in music production with the purchase of Rolands now Classic 808 drum machine and Mc202 Groove composer.
In 1989 a move north saw differing interests take over, it was in 1992 when he was introduced yet again to Beats and breaks by the inspiring DJ Cut maestro, seeing this brand of scratching and chopping up tunes elivend the passion within him once again and saw him enrol in music production courses and studio engineering courses, engineering for many local bands as well as getting involved with one of the best of the emerging local Rave clubs looking after the sound and lighting systems, attending many illegal and legitimate events saw CaRdIaC take more interest the technology side of the scene, 1993 saw CaRdIaC Make his own first set of Turntables, and with an old realistic mixer began spinning his vast collection of early Techno and Trance Vinyl, from labels such as Tresor, Rising High, R&S, Red planet, Metroplex, Transmat, plus 8, as well as Sven Vaths label HartHouse, in 1995 he landed his own late night radio show with Middlesbrough’s community based station KIX FM which owing to Creative differences was a short lived affair, in 1996 fatherhood saw priorities change yet again however his passion for the Music and the technology never died and he still span whenever possible, in 1999 CaRdIaC purchased his first set of 1210's but in keeping with the technological interest made the progression to CD which was an emerging market, putting out demo CD,s to clubs the length and breadth of the UK, there just didn’t seem to be a market for CaRdIaC's brand of Techno which saw awe inspiring sound scape’s blended with minimal beats and blistering basslines and acid tinged riffs, so not one to be beaten he made a decision to get with the mainstream and start playing Trance and House music however he was still drawn to the more technologically creative artists that verged on Techno.
Today some 20 years on, still influenced by those early pioneers such as May, Atkins, Saunderson, Kraftwerk as well as some of the second wave producers such as Hawtin, Mills, Beltram, inspired by the likes of Autechure, Mixmaster Morris, Alter Ego, Braincell, Leftfield, Umek, Vath, Lieb, Ali Dubfire, as well as some more avant-garde producers such as Vangellis, Jarre, CaRdIaC has re-established his sound blending Live performance with Minimal beats and seismic basslines, remixing tunes on the fly and intuitive use of effects CaRdIaC is now set to take the North east by storm, Having showcased his Talents at the recent DC11 Future Techno Heroes event he has now been picked up as a resident for the fastest growing Free for the people Techno club nights DC11: Presents Evil Circus.
