About
Growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas, Cara started singing in the church choir at the age of seven. For Cara, emoting the inspirational songs of her Methodist upbringing was the cornerstone of her beginnings as a talented singer, “The church was my favorite place to sing. My first solo was “Silent Night.” Throughout grammar and high school, Cara cultivated & showcased her talent by participating in a host of local talent shows and musicals. During this time she also performed at various clubs, weddings and benefits in Corpus and surrounding areas.
Her first taste at Hollywood came to a halt at age 14 when she attended, International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) Convention in Hollywood with her Texas Agency, Infinity Model and Talent Agency. She won various model and talent awards including dance, only to leave contracts behind as a pre-teen and fly back to Texas, due to her parents being unable to move to Hollywood as her guardians. Upon returning to Texas Cara went on to become a competition cheerleader performing on ESPN, and winning multiple awards including “Who’s Who of American Cheerleaders” On her 18th birthday Cara took her chances and left her small Texas town for the lights and stages of New York City. With tons of ambition and heart she set out to make it as a star singing, acting, and performing stand up comedy.
After four years in the New York scene she felt it was time to truly join the big leagues. She headed to Hollywood. Her deep, rich, powerful, classic texture of her voice continues to touch everyone that hears her sing. In response to hearing Cara’s incredible range progress and prep for her first recording session, Carol Rogers of Musicians Institute Hollywood: affectionately known as Mama O, stated “Cara Quici has the formula for success: focus, determination, and resilience!”
Recently Cara finished recording her first single “Away From You” with Executive Producer Max Gousse, Senior VP of Def Jam Universal, in anticipation for her world wide album release in 2011. Of her singing experience Cara has this to say, “I have learned a lot, It’s been the biggest experience of my life. It’s a blessing from God to be able to use my talent to make my living – Tomorrow it’s about being on a world tour and winning a Grammy, I cant wait!”
