Captain Swing is an Italian alternative rock band from Baronissi, near Salerno. Formed in 2006, the band currently consists of Fulvio Forte (lead vocals, guitars), Riccardo Alfano (drums and percussions), Gianmario Galano (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Salvatore Landi (bass, backing vocals and clapping hands).
The band sounds pop and fresh, combining sweet melodies, love for the 60’s with punk rock attitude, tough guitars and bizarre lyrics.
Captain Swing achieved the 3rd place at the contest “Prove Di Rock” in April 2007, winning the recording of one song in Luigi Nobile’s “Monochrome” studio. They recorded “Stealing Your Music” which had been transmitted by Mike Watt (solo artist, Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Iggy Pop and The Stooges) to his own podcast “The Watt From Pedro Show”.
Then “Stealing Your Music” has been played on “The TLP Show “, another radio podcast in Florida.After several live shows, Captain Swing returned to Monochrome Studio for recording: from these sessions one of the tunes (“ We Swing All Alone”) was chosen by Mike Watt for“ The Watt From Pedro Show “again.
Captain Swing has played live together with artists such as Virginiana Miller, The Mojomatics, Pertubazione, The Morning Benders, Yann Tiersen, Jamiroquai and recently the band has been part of the Neapolis Festival cast.
An EP is about to be released during this winter.
