Eclectic Giving, a nonprofit opening quite soon, will support a diversity of health issues. We're a unique nonprofit. We will earn our charitable contributions through the sales of products, we know that's not a new thing, there are other companies that donate their profits to charity but they're not 501(c)(3) nonprofits, by setting ourselves up in such a manner we're legally obligated to donate our profits, so as long as our "doors" are open you'll know we're truly giving the money we make away.
To start, our portion of earnings will be distributed to existing health focused charities we'll select annually which are doing good work in research and human services in connection to a diversity of illnesses. As we expand we'll add our own health research grant program and education funding program for those pursuing careers in a health focused field.
We're starting out in the apparel, accessories, beauty and related markets selling new brand name and designer goods, both their in-season products and overstock along with carefully chosen secondhand and vintage items. Our plan is to grow and expand into more and more market sectors over time.
HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN... Right now we're exploring the idea of adding online music sales to our offerings and doing so as soon as we can get it organized and setup. We want to know, what do you think of this idea and would you be interested in selling your work through a nonprofit? Our plan for music sales is pretty straightforward, you get what you deserve as artists and we give our earnings away! If this sounds like something you'd like to get involved with, have questions about or suggestions to offer please email us. We're quite serious about doing this and are looking to put a team of volunteers together with the know how to facilitate the organization of our music sales division, certainly send an email if you'd like to assist in this capacity.
Our website, eStore and social media presence, etc. are NOT professionally designed at this time but the work is in progress. We ended up receiving more advanced attention than expected and had to throw everything together ourselves before we'd even had our branding and identity created. When you check out our links please don't view what you see now as illustrative of our final image. An amazing firm has taken on all design responsibilities for us and we're expecting great work from them as they create an upscale yet memorable brand for Eclectic Giving. In addition, we've been accepted as a pro-bono client with a full-service eCommerce company. They're providing us a wonderful and complete online business which includes services we need along with services that will allow us to stand out right from the beginning and operate a high-functioning eStore.
Without a "brand" an "identity" an "image" or whatever you choose to call it, Eclectic Giving's been doing well with both the public and the very professionals we need to make this happen. Mentioned above was the advanced attention Eclectic Giving's received... This can be seen in the number of social media fans & followers we have already. For example, the Facebook page has close to 1,000 fans right now. On the surface this may not seem like much but when you consider we've not advertised and have not asked our friends to become fans (actually, we've asked those friends who are fans not to suggest the page to anyone until the design is complete). Additionally, we can see that most new fans are coming to us from searching Facebook and Google which means somehow we've generated word-of-mouth interest which is every business person's dream come true!! All of this for a business and nonprofit which technically doesn't even exist yet!?! That we have any fans at all takes on a completely different meaning, especially as many as 1,000!!
In consulting with multiple marketing professionals who've volunteered their professional opinions at this time a number of conclusions of been assembled. First, due to our social media attention one firm did a professional yet informal survey on our behalf, an important determination was that if a person is going to shop online for a particular product and they are aware of a health supporting nonprofit business which may carry the product the person will check the website of the nonprofit before checking elsewhere as long as other factors are equal, particularly ease of use of the site along with competitive pricing (yet it was determined that a higher than expected number of people will pay a little more if buying from the nonprofit). This is absolutely wonderful news for us, when we begin advertising we simply need to let people know of our existence and that our prices are equal or better than our competition. It seems "insiders" know immediately that they're dealing with something unprecedented, considering all the factors mentioned. Someone with one firm called our business plan a, "Hurry up and build it because we've already come!" idea...
If we've not yet sold you on the idea of selling through us when the time comes just wait until after we launch and you'll get to see a few ideas we're keeping to ourselves right now. We must leave a few surprises for our launch! In the interim, if you're considering working with us or simply becoming a regular customer when you do check out or social media presence we'd appreciate your additional support, even after going on about how wonderful our advanced support is right now, we do know that we'll need 100 times over our current FB fan count to be a successful business and a nonprofit.
