CaliParis is a San Diego based DJ duo consisting of Leo Goldstein and Miguel Angel Rios. The two randomly met during summer of 2009, and instantly developed a unique musical chemistry.
Leo, born and raised in Paris France, and at the age of 15 fell in love with house music, which was lead at time by industry leading artists such as, Martin Solveig, Joachim Garraud, Bob Sinclar and the legendary Daft Punk. It’s after witnessing these artists preform live, the passion of DJing quickly grew within Leo. Four months after getting his first CDJs, he won Joachim Garraud’s annual Dj contest on his forum, and earning the opportunity to open up, and hand off the decks to Joachim Garraud. He then started DJing in multiple clubs in Paris.
Miguel was born and raised in sunny San Diego California, and he has always had a very strong passion for music since he was a very little child. His older brother had shown him all types of music when they were growing up, but Miguel has always found his unique style within many types of genres. Once he graduated High School, Miguel was introduced to the rapidly growing electronic dance music scene by his closest friends. Instantly after attending his first Southern California Massive, Miguel knew that this music was going to be a monumental part of his life. Right after the summer of 2009 when Miguel attended his second Electronic Daisy Carnival, is when they both started to build their unique chemistry they have together.
2 years after Leo moved to San Diego by himself at the age of 18, Leo and Miguel randomly became roommates. Leo already had his own equipment and knowledge of DJin, and after 9 months of teaching and mentoring Miguel, they decided that they would partner up and follow their dream of DJing around the world togetherSoon after they decided to officially create CaliParis, it’s been none stop forward motion, and hard work. With their first opportunity given to them by local San Diego Djs Stircrazy, and the entire Eventvibe family led by Tim Ortiz & Matty Allison CaliParis opened up the main stage at Heaven & Hell music festival. After their first performance the opportunities kept rolling in, allowing them to open up for artists such as Joachim Garraud, Fedde Le Grand, Dada Life, Bingo Players, Bob Sinclar, Donald Glaude, Morgan Page, Sidney Samson, and Above and Beyond.
With Leo’s European influences and Miguel’s California electronic music scene expertise, they created their own style that consists of combining multiple genres of house music into one big room sound that suits them perfectly.
