I've been writing & producing under the Cakeboy moniker since 1998 with releases on SONIC TONIC, CUP OF TEA RECORDS, EMBEATS and now have a permenant home with the ground breaking MUTATE RECORDS (Album coming on MUTATE in 2012)..
I have always performed my material live along with my VJ, DOUBLETHINK who has brought an exciting visual element to my sets.
Apart from several residencies in Brighton we are best known on the festival circuit (outdoors is best!) and continue to develop our live show Year on Year to keep it fresh. We have performed many times at the likes of Glastonbury, Guilfest, Electric Picnic, Shambala, Secret Garden Party & various festivals in Spain, Germany & Austria.
In the last year, i've started DJing out with Ableton Live where my VJ cannot join me and mashing all genres of music together along with my own tunes, bringing the festival vibe to events and venues around Cornwall.
I also do live sound and until it was axed in 2010 due to spending cuts, i was running sound engineering workshops for BBC BLAST, a travelling media education programme for young people. Very sadly missed!
