Every sound on Cafe Kaput KAP003 'Music For Dieter Rams' originated from a small alarm clock. Contact microphones recorded various aspects of the clock and fragments of these recordings were used as the raw building blocks. This is a short and basic walk-through of how a few sounds were conceived during the making of the record. Not exhaustive by any means, but should give you an idea.
