@Candle Nine: agreed. the intent with this track was to keep more ambient, i mentioned it in another comment, but I think I'll end up with 2 different versions of this song. one that gets heavy in the end to juxtapose the long droning intro. thanks for listening!

@c.db.sn: I was thinking it would be awesome if the perc came back in with a blast. Keeping the downtempo pattern, but with a real powerful punch.

So dope! I love when this drop hits... very smooth flow, yet totally changes the mood.

@Worms of the Earth: i was working on this on the plane today... i came to the same realization, i've been thinning out the pad elements at times to let it "breathe" a little. also, percussion edits... you know how i do! when writing this i got all "A Sight Below"... lots of drones, they are neat but not all at the same time all the time...

was listening to this again today. this is seriously good. my only suggestion would be to drop out the main drone for a little bit, otherwise it starts to feel repetitive. I would say either do the dryft thing where it drops out and then comes back in with a new pad and more intense beat, or drop it out for 8-16 bars before the melody part comes in...just to kind of give the listeners ears a break so that when it comes back it feels intense again. OR drop it out and have a really deep, low pad drone going under the beat for a bit. ok im done now :P

@circle six: i second that mike. the drums are so much more intriguing because of the mud but it would feel so satisfying if it developed subtly into something less distant. i find myself craving that.

@circle six: im still trying to decide what this track is all about... i started it for the WOE ambient comp so keeping it subtle and minimal would be in line with that. perhaps i'll keep this as is for the comp and have a remix that gets busier down the line.

you having the drums come back in, you could ditch the reverb on the snare. the first part sounds very post rock without the guitar, and it's super nice staying minimal, but filling it out here, hmmmmmm.

@c.db.sn: i like the mud for a time, but it would be good to develop the track so the mud drains out and you let the melody and percusion stand out and "solo" for lack of a better term.

@Filch: thanks! im working on eqing out a little mud in this mids and doing something with percussion.
