DJ Ange BIO
Ange gained an appreciation for ‘club music’ early on in life as the daughter of nightclub owning parents. She got her first set of turntables at the age of 16, and back then was heavily into Hip Hop. It wasn’t until she heard the skills of Chicago House legend Derrick Carter in 2000, that she made the transition to electronica.
As a graduate of the 2001 Red Bull DJ Academy (held in London Feb 2002), Ange has been focused on music with integrity and chooses not to follow the status quo. Her sets run the gamut from house, to techno and everything in between with a focus on keeping things interesting and lifting the vibe.
Today Ange is one of New Zealand’s better known female DJ’s and has featured on countless dance events. She has a loyal fan base cultivated through the drive show she hosted on George FM for over 3 years and monthly club night BUMP which ran for 7 years at Aucklands infamous Ink Bar.
Ange has supported the likes of Derrick Carter, Justin Harris, James Curd, Brett Johnson, Kevin Saunderson, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Chris Duckenfield, Inland Knights, Kenny Larkin and Gene Farris to name a few.
Ange as her own definitively unique style. Her diverse collection of house music never fails to rock a floor, and her passionate delivery of the many musical influences she loves never fails to impress.
