Introducing Karl Future & Brother Simon...
Two exciting new additions to the Infrared family! :)

Karl’s no stranger to the industry, having made a name for himself in the hardcore scene. Frustrated by the solid formula demanded by the genre he found himself moving further and further away from hardcore... And closer and closer to drum & bass.

A card-carrying fan of J Majik & Wickaman for many years, he thought he’d drop us a line. Several quick-fire swaps later and Karl, along with his sibling Simon (yup, they are actually brothers), were signed. And a beautiful label debut was developed...

‘Soundshower’ lives up to its refreshing tag in every way. Bright, breezy chords flow lucidly, tingling keys are sprinkled liberally and skippy beats chitter-chatter in the background. Garnished with classic, breathy, ravey vocals, it’s the quintessential sunrise/sunset soundtrack that will become a staple of all D&B playlists as the warmer months arrive. Satisfyingly fresh; like being drenched by an audio water cannon on a baking hot day but without wasting any water... Did someone just say ‘bro’s before hose?’

‘It’s Over’ shows a slightly deeper, edgier side to the brotherly duo. Driven by a harder, steppier riddim and breathing deeply with a minor set of chords, we soon drop into a superb swinging bassline groove. Rolling with a timeless confidence and well-rounded sonic power, as the track progresses Karl and Simon introduce a mild skank to proceedings, giving it added heads-down, locked-in potential. Slick, understated but full of power, it concludes the end of a very special label debut.
It is over... but not for long. Expect more from these guys very soon!
