Written tonight on my flight home. I was inspired by a twitter chat about favorite composers and decided to read up on one of my favorite pieces by Strauss. Ended up listening to some Debussy and it inspired this. On the flight I experimented with some new granular/convolution ideas. Overdubbed piano (Pianoteq) in the kitchen with some Valhalla shimmer and Room (automated). This composition is one of 7

What Armin Van Buuren said was true, "BT is the Mozart of the Electronica scene". Its amazing, in fact, that I bet he played the Piano the entire time instead of borrowing from someone elses skills. He is a true musician, and im proud to be from the same state that he was born in (Maryland)

Just beautiful... Your music blew me away in 1997 when I heard "Flaming June" and I'm blown away again. You have an amazing musical mind, such talent.

Any chance you could be a little more technical about the "ganular/convolution ideas"?

I have to ask about the intention of the title; is it meant to imply that the "not music" undergoes a "transformation" into music? Because, at first glance, I read it as "Nacht Musik," a title that could also work, given the ambiance of the piece. I also understand that "Tod und Verklärung" was your initial inspiration, though. Anyway, I'd be honored if one Brian Transeau would satiate (no pun intended) my curiosity...
