Bruno Lawton is a DJ and electronic music producer from London
He has worked with many artists including Wendy James, Jonty Skruff, Adamk (LMP),Gus Brown, Jamie Gittins and Scott Martin.
His love for electronic music began in 1989 when discovering kiss FM and DJ's such as Colin Dale and the break dancing and scratching sensation of the 80's.
He has been collecting vinyl for 17 years and often sift through vinyl looking for techno,house, deep house and 80's electronic music from Detroit,Chicago and New York.
During the late 90's he realised he lived next to Roll Over Studios where Leftfield were recording, in 1998 he applied for a trainee Job there to learn to make music.
This inspired him to get into music production, making music on an Atari with Cubase, a keyboard and an Akai sampler.
He first Djed, professionally in 1995 at the age of 15, playing house and deep house to a crowd in a club behind Holborn with Tony from Chuff.
By 17 He was playing at at Camden Palace ,Electroworkz and clubbing at Bagley’s, Freedom dancing to Ariel’s 8 hour sets.
In 2000 he aimed to carry on Djing but pursued a career in Specialist radio production climbing the production route to choice fm, kiss100, ministry of Sound and UBC Media.
At kiss100 he radio produced David Rodigan,Dave Mothersole,Tall Paul, John Askew, Shortee Bltiz, MK, Andy Morris, Matt Jam Lamont, EZ, Tom Stephen, Tayo ,the Loose Cannons and at ministry of sound radio Bill Brewster, Pete Gooding and Tania Von Pear.
In 2004 He was invited by The Gallery to host the T2 room with his underground night Bassdriven.
He then went on to play in the main room a few times a year with Paul Oakenfold and Tall Paul.
Both Pauls at the time noted Bruno's eye for delivering great deep sets.
Production wise in 2011 Bruno is releasing music on Mixtape records which he co founded with Gus Brown.
Plaudits for the label come from London legend Trevor Rockcliffe, sighting mixtape as a label he "is feeling right now".
He has also worked with Jonty Skruff and Wendy James on more artistic flavours in techno.
Bruno also has a forthcoming release entitled "Automatic".
