The first single taken from the debut album by Owiny Sigoma Band. This track will be available exclusively on 12" via Record Store Day (16/4/11).
The album is be released on the 18th April 2011.
In 2009, a close-knit collective of London-based musicians travelled to Nairobi in Kenya to collaborate with local musicians there. It was a loose arrangement… there was no specific agenda other than to bring the musicians together, exchange ideas and enjoy the results.
“What I heard when I first played Owiny Sigoma Band on the radio was a phat, wayward dance record with African leanings and it just felt completely right”
Gilles Peterson

I'm a sucker for a good, grooving beat and African inspired electric guitar. I like how the vocals aren't intrusive and serve to keep the riff fun. Great song!
