BrothersEmpire grew up in Melbourne, Australia. As he aged through the years he tried his hand at many a musical instrument but nothing quite satisfied. The music that really got his attention was house, listening to every house compilation CD he could find from about 12 years old. In his teens he would sneak into some of the best venues around town to sample what some of Australias best DJs had to offer. Quickly, music became his drug and the DJ his god. This new found religion sparked an interest in the art of DJing and he soon found some musical equipment that soothed that itchy palm that he couldn't scratch before. Spending hours and hours practising every night before he ventured out on the town, he would then come home in search of the musical delights he had witnessed that night. The passion of sourcing the newest best music had begun. Soon he was playing guest spots at some of Melbournes greatest clubs before finally getting his first residency. Soon his musical tastes begun to mature, as he found he no longer wanted to play that big room sound. A trip into a local record store to source some chillout music for a friend sparked an interest in the music he could hear over the sound system. What was this amazing sound coming from this black piece of wax, he was hooked. Walking out with at least 20 records he came home only to come to the realisation he had no turntables. Soon the 1200s took pride and place on the desk and the shelf holding the record collection began to creak under the strain. This new found sound was the fun accoustic percussion of deep house, the beeps and twists of tech house, and the weird chirps with slamming basslines of techno. Refining his sound he soon slotted in with a different crew, a more mature sounding crew. He soon found himself playing the guest mix on the Profile Sounds show on KISS FM and playing at the more underground venues around town. This brings us to today, where BrothersEmpire can now be found on the decks playing anything from the deepest house, to the truely twisted sounds of techno. His sets are always an adventure, always exploring the boundaries of genres. This guy has an ear for music that surpasses his age. Don't expect to hear what you know, but be prepared to listen to what you haven't yet heard. This is BrothersEmpire.
