Dom Bud is the founder member of the breaks duo Brothers Bud. From a very early age he knew that music was going to be a big part of his life. After being asked not so politely to leave school at the age of 11 he asked his Mother if he could have some decks, two weeks later he was making a lot of noise teaching himself how to scratch and mix. Not long after that he found out there was a recording studio in his home town of Stourbridge.... that was it!! he spent hours every day hanging around making cups of tea and generally being the dogs body but that was the start of his new life. By the age of 14 Dom hooked up with a local pirate radio station called 'Freedom 102' this is where he met the man who could make him a transmiter, BassStation FM was born!!
Dom's music history ranging from disco, funk through to hip-hop and with a healthy dose of late-eighties rave culture can be heard in all of his productions.
His studio skill's come in many different forms as he's been engineering tracks for the likes of Utah Saints, Rob Tissera, Soul Of Man, Micky Slim, Alex Schmitz, Pete Jordan and his own Fidget outfit Escobar & Vito. Dom is also one half of Starjackers signed to Fatboy Slim's Southern Fried Records.
Brothers Bud first came to the attention of Finger Lickin' in the summer of 2002 when Dom turned up at Vinyl Addiction with the first 10 copies of the soon-to-be Finger Lickin' monster, 'Herbgrinder'. Including a blinding re-rub from in-house legends the Drumattic Twins, the release was a massive international success leading to compilation licences and radio support in every corner of the globe. It also made the number 1 spot in the Breaks chart in DJ Mag - not bad for a debut release! Having found a home in the boxes of the Plump DJs, Dreadzone, Rennie Pilgrem, Kid Kenobi and Ali B, to name but a few.
Dom still hold's a 14 year residency at Atomic Jam. He has appeared on Metalheadz tours, the Rizla tour with Bugged Out, Fabric, Matter, and has blown many a roof off all over the world
