Meet New York’s Little Racer. They make some fantastic pop music, as evidenced with Singles, a bundle of three songs available digitally and free via littleracer.bandcamp.com.
Singles may cause sing-alongs, smiles, and hooks lodged in corners of your brain for weeks on end. The quartet’s influences are a moving target: “Split For The Coast” sounds like Talking Heads if they cut their teeth in casino lounges, until the chorus enters and you wonder where Brian Wilson came from. Bookended by their self-titled track and “The Girls Are Right”, you’ll be amazed at how quickly 12 minutes can pass.
