Broke One entered the spotlight when Djs started labeling him as the new hottest European talent and now he is spreading his own vision of funk around the globe. In mid-2000 he started off by spinning house tracks blended with heavy bass sounds. Subsequently, after endless home-studio sessions, he forged his unique sound shaped by his inclination towards house melodies; Broke One’s strongest musical influences are, among others, Chicago’s Trax Records, Paris’ Roulé and old-school hip-hop. Following several web releases and remixes such as the ones for Evil Nine, Teki Latex and Kry Wolf, Broke One was acclaimed by world’s famous DJs thanks to his hit “Go Go Go” (LaValigetta Rec. 2011). “Go Go Go” is a subtle piece of house music designed around a brilliantly evocative jackin vocal sample, which was already appreciated by Azari & III, Andy & Jaymo and Russ Chimes and loved by house players like Laidback Luke, Cassian and Boris Dluglosh. The shuffling 909 and pitch vocals found in “Go Go Go” soon will become a distinguishing trademark of this talented 24-year-old musician. After being remixed by Russ Chimes and Treasure Fingers, Broke One succeeded in being featured in several charts and radio playlists such as BBC RADIO 1, where his tracks are regularly selected by Andy & Jaymo as part of their program (as well as part of their sets). Andy & Jaymo, one of Broke One’s best supporters, invited him to participate in their long anticipated debut compilation - Moda Vol.1 - to which he responded with one of his craziest jams: “Once Upon A Time”. The single now stands in the tracklist right next to Strip Steve and Tom Staar waiting to become the soundtrack of Summer 2011.
