And here lands another thrilling musical export from Sweden Icona Pop from Stockholm. Their debut release featuring ‘Manners’ and ‘Top Rated’ falls on March 21st via the ever-on-it Neon Gold (NY/London). An extended version of ‘Manners’ featured on the tastemaker label Kitsune Compilation in late 2010.

A side ‘Manners’, co-written with Fredrik Berger/Patrik Berger the latter behind last years all conquering Robyn smash ‘Dancing On My Own’ sounds quite unlike anything you’ll hear in 2011. The chorus “there is no-one like me” may well be co-incidental but how right they are. If Gaga was from Sweden, she’d still not sound this fresh.

Flip side, a Elof Loelv co-production, ‘Top Rated’ contains no less kick and awe than ‘Manners’ - a sultry verse, a screaming chorus’, stomping synths and a whole lotta gusto. And those drums?
