Words and music by Brian Vaughn.

I wrote and recorded this song last week. Needed a break after a week in the studio working on Pilotless Drone's new album. This is a lot more light-hearted and laid back than my stuff usually is but it was a nice change from a week of metal. :)

    Lyrics ---

None of us knows where we'll be tomorrow,
Let alone 2 weeks from this date.
Will I still be in this place?
"It's okay", she says, "I'll definitely call you later."
If I don't go and forget to,
And if I'm still living here.

Can we say we see a pattern,
When the same thing goes and happens for the 10th time in a year?
After all it's just an anecdote in the bigger picture.

You continue taking things for granted,
And you don't know that you're doing it until I point it out.
And none of us knows where this road is headed,
But I'll take it straight. (Never said I'd go slow.)
Face to the wind so I'll be the first to notice.

You've got a taste for running around.
I've got a history of falling down,
And I know there are miles of road between today and tomorrow.
So if you came here to put me down,
    You might as well leave.
    I won't grow up now.
    It's too late to change.
You can't teach a young man how to behave.

The time it takes me to write,
To share these words with you,
Describing this reality and how you make me feel.
I never know if I'm wasting effort.
    Maybe I am?
Never know if I don't sing like the wind,
So you'll be the first to notice.

You've got a taste for running around.
I've got a history of falling down,
And I know there's a long damn between today and tomorrow.
So if you came here to call me out, you might well leave.
    I won't turn back now.
I can't save face, not after today.
