About
Playing guitar, drums and bass and some keyboards and sampling since the age of 5 years old.
I don't use a computer to record or edit. Just recorded track by track on a Fostex VF-16 board. Samples off of tivo or dvd. I play it through a few times on each part and then hit record. I do one take performances on all the instruments to give it a live band feel when it's only me. Yes, my timing kicks ass. Any mistakes make it real. I don't go back and fix anything. I record direct with no additional studio signal processors on the drums and bass.
Guitars go through a line 6 pod xt pro, AX212, Peavey Valveking, or a digitech gsp-2101 depending on how I feel. Standard Van Halen sounding pedal FX. I grew up listening to Van Halen, Queensryche, AC/DC, Rush, Pantera, classic rock radio, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Blues Saraceno & Dave Urich.
I play a right handed guitar lefty but I don't flip the strings. All backwards and upside down. I figured out how to play guitar all crazy by myself. After seeing a Van Halen live concert on MTV in 1986 I found the escape I was looking for.
I was 14 years old and thought "that looks like fun" and starting working on tapping and harmonic screams right away.
I hope you like it.
