Breaksjunky is one of Manchesters most exciting and respected Breaks DJs.

He started spinning House in 2003 at local clubs and bars in Manchester as well as playing some free parties.

He has always been a part of the Manchester club scene and frequently attended some of the best nights around the UK.

Influenced by all kinds of music like House, Trance, Techno, Old School, Drum & Bass, UK Garage etc he eventually found Breaks while out in Leeds and instantly fell in love!!

' We'd been to Rehab to see Danny Howells and after the Glasshouse we ended up back at some student dorms, the guy that lived there had stacks of breaks and couldn't mix so i volunteered to get the party started, and he couldn't get me off the decks til the wee hours'.

Since then he has been building up a massive collection of all things breaks, gettin play out with local nights such as We are Breaks, Fubar, Lowdown & Dirty (Winner of best small event @ Breakspoll Breakbeat Awards 2012) Naughty Panda (4 times nominated for best small event @ Breakspoll Breakbeat Awards), Egg and Amen Breaks. As well as regular play as resident @ both of his nights Redemption & Solstice Beats.

He has played along side DJs like Grandmaster Flash, 808 State, Rebecca Saforia, Slyde, Backdraft, Aut0b0ts, Steve Thorpe, Herbie Saccani, Breakthru, Dirty Girl, Ainsley K, Miss Tickle & Qbensis DJs, most of which have been regular DJs at his Breaks nights Redemption & Solstice Beats in Manchester.

Most recently he competed in the Gemini Freestyle DJ Competition 2011 by BPM @ The Birmingham NEC, on the Gatecrasher Stage, and managed to get through to the final, and over all he came 3rd.

'I was stoked to be there representing Breaks and also to get into the final!

But i couldn't believe i was the only one who played Breaks and used Turntables, Mad!'.

Breaksjunky is still running his own night in Manchester and is looking forward to 2012 and all that it may bring.

With lots of production underway and many more gigs to come he takes it all in his stride,

' I basically want to get even more exposure, playing things like festivals, other peoples nights and bringing Big, Phatt, Dirty Breaks to the masses!!, So keep it Breaks and we'll see you on the Dancefloor'.
