At the eye of the storm: Saint Max.
An adolescence spent in the depths of the South West Scottish countryside has left this particular prophet with countless songbooks bulging with wry observation, uncommon passion and pop melodies which refuse to be shaken off. The sound is undeniably contemporary, with sprinklings of artful nostalgia.
2012 sees this wandering poet’s dramatic entrance to the scene: with the release of his debut EP “Saint Max and the Fanatics”, recorded at Glasgow’s all-analogue Green Door Studio. Harking back to luminaries as varied as Bowie, Madness and Morrissey, Saint Max’s sound is born to an eclectic family of influences. It is bound together, however, by a razor sharp delivery which simply cannot be ignored.
As the headlines above show, Saint Max’s brand of offbeat-pop is already winning the attention of respected Scottish bloggers, Saint Max is determined to have the last word – and he wants to make sure you’re listening.
