bossFYTE is an experimental electronic music duo formed in 2008 by Toronto locals Beatill Blocher and Pete OHearn. Generally considered to be IDM in style, their music seamlessly weaves elements of Breakcore, Ambient, Braindance, Rhythmic Noise, A/V Core, and Robo-Pop.
bossFYTE is an audio/visual experience, layering video-music, backing visuals, and on stage theatrics into a synchronized Ludovico technique. Their musical process combines the traditional recording of analog synthesizers and circuit bent instruments, with the hyper detailed automation and programming of VST instruments, continuously re-working chaos and noise into carefully crafted experimental pop.
Since erupting onto the scene, bossFYTE has brought their unique brand of Audio/Visual hyper stimulation to several thousands... from their well received performance at TIFF Lighbox ( Scotiabank's Nuit Blanche ), opening for the Flashbulb, NAC's STRUTT ( the largest, wearable art show in Canada ), to headlining Toronto's notorious "Videodrome" at MOCCA.
As a result of their refusal to adhere to the convention of genre, bossFYTE has cultivated a more eclectic electronic music community, bridging scenes that in some cases would not necessarily associate. bossFYTE's ability to wear many hats has resulted in a universal appeal, attracting a wide range of audiences from outside of the electronic music circle.
Their debut release "Top Score !!!" has made waves with its genre-defiant sound, it's online companion game, and the unique packaging of its 3 disc set.
Since dropping their latest track "Think About It" for Executive Netlabel's "Human Component" compilation ( Featuring Mark Spyby's project Propeller, Sunao Inami, and Bangalore ), bossFYTE has recently signed with Executive, and are currently working on a second LP due for release late March 2012 ... redefining their sound once again.
