Biography Boom boom du Terre
Boom boom du Terre is the pseudonym of the Dutch music producer Jornt Jan Bras. Based in Rotterdam, Jornt has been active as a drummer in bands from that region for the past ten years. As a drummer he has been playing gigs at venues and festivals all over Europe. In 2007 Jornt graduated from the conservatory in Rotterdam where he studied drums, and began working as a session drummer and a composer.
In 2008 Boom boom du Terre, which started out as one of his side projects, became his main work. As Boom boom du Terre, Jornt uses real acoustic drums, electronic drums and even plastic bottles to create the pounding beats that support his fat baselines and crazy, positive melodies.
His debut album ‘Your favorite alBoom’ therefore sounds very diverse and original. Jornt is performing his positive, energetic Boom boom du Terre music live as a one man band, using devices such as drum computers, a keytar and synthesizers.
Boom boom du Terre may sound like techno or Boom boom du Terre may sound like hiphop, but Boom boom du Terre always sounds like Boom boom du Terre!
