Boombay Central is the moniker of Mumbai based Dj/ Music Producer Tarun Shahani who started producing electronic music after being inspired by meeting Delhi based duo Midival Punditz. Seeing them use early sequencers like Cakewalk to produce electronic beats and Melodies made him realize how it was actually possible to be a band by yourself and create music solely on a computer… Up until then he was djing and working with MTV, hosting shows like ClubMtv, Made In India etc. He did a stint at Sae Chennai where his real obsession with audio manipulation started. Boombay Central is a project that has seen many collaborations with other arstists like Midival punditz, Ashvin from Jalebee cartel, Nirav Gandhi from Junkt etc and Finally with the addition of permanent co producer & Composer, Vinayak Manohar. Vinayak is a brilliant keyboard player from Chennai who Studied music at the Musicians Institute in L.A. The sound is emotional deep progressive electronica ranging from chilled ethnic grooves to Minimal Tech, Progressive, Psychedelic Trance and Breaks.
