Michael Jackson "They Don't Care About Us" - Released as the fourth single from "HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I", the song is a plea for tolerance and acceptance of others, speaking out against discrimination of people of other ethnicities and religions. However, at the time of its release, the song was met with controversy over lyrics that were misconstrued as being intolerant of another group of people. Jackson immediately issued an apology, even changing the questionable lyrics on repressings of the album and single. The track features one of MJ's hardest and aggressive dance grooves, supported by a video directed by famed filmmaker Spike Lee, shot in Rio De Janeiro in the Spring of 1995. The version featured here has been remixed by DJ T-Rock. Text by Jeff Harris.
