This is the one I've mentioned a bunch, but nobody''s seen nor heard...nor cared probably... :-)

The one from Oct, 98 that I named, created the art, did the printing - then recorded the mix...yeah, well that didn't work...

After what would have ended up being a practice run, I decided f-in "Dark Matter" was just too damn dark...for what I was trying to say as a whole, at that time, regardless the fact I was also trying to capture "this sound" as well at the time as it was breaking...

Highlights for me on this are:
-Tipper's "Remix" of Tweak No.1 (Coast) '96
-Cuts from 'The Nu Skool Breaks Samplers" from Rennie on Kickin' Breaks (sourced from being on Rennie's mailing list from meeting him at WMC)
-"Supernatural" from Justin Johnson and John Selway (on Justin's new label at the time - Barely Legal Breaks - and that I helped him sticker the white labels at Kinkos in Miami for WMC...) 98.

Probably something else, but I can't remember now, and if it hadn't been for the personal connections and my appreciation, this wouldn't exist...

I always felt like, if somebody gave me something cool, that I'd make something out of it... I'd been looking for a couple years for something to mix w/ the Tipper track, so it all just kinda happened that way and fell together...

Oh yeah, Hybrid's remix for Friction & Spice on their "All Jazzed Up" E.P. (No personal connection, but I feel it's at least noteworthy...)

All in all, in my mind, it's the beginnings of Nu Skool and what became known as Deep Progressive Breaks... I was into breaks, and even though I 'hesitated' on publishing this mix, I played the living shit out of this stuff back in those days...

So anyway, it's been sitting in a drawer for 13 years and found it a few months ago, recorded it, patched up A & B sides and voila - Dark Matter...

"The Fix" for me to salvage the larger portion of the work, was to change out a few tracks... Still coming from "the samplers" but different, and left off the Tipper remix altogether... dude was just too ahead of his time for the ears i was playing for then...
