With two strong debut releases on the Praterei imprint, 7 Citizens aka Viennese musician and producer Felix 'BNCKD' Bergleiter quickly nurtured a respectable name
for himself within the small but thriving underground scene. Well supported by the likes of Tama Sumo, We Play House, Cottam, Sammy Dee, Iron Curtis, Marcello
Napoletano, Snuff Crew, Murphy Jax, Tyree Cooper, ItaloJohnson and many more, his analogue sound, set off with nostalgic house vibes of the very early 90s and
smatterings of detroit techno; even hiphop, mos definitely is an ear-catcher. Shibboleths? Certainly never heard of that. Classic functionalism won´t be found in
his productions, nor the, alas, so common subliminal attempts of making house sound authentic and dirty. They simply work as they are, as pure analogue and ruff
drafts, complex instrumental tracks, sometimes even with a hidden romanticism per se.
Felix started off djing in 1993 with lots of hiphop, headz and turntablism, making his acquaintance with broken beats in the early 2000s and finally falling for those house
vibes pretty soon after. Thereby, his sets have diversity, technical skills and guts in abundance. Since 1997 Felix has been (and still is) part of one of Austria´s most influential
HipHop trio, the Waxolutionists. Playing festivals and shows worldwide for years, recording and releasing dozens of records. While on the broken beat tip he released
some work with his outfit 'Circus' and in 2009, together with Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble), he teamed up to deliver HUNDRED20, presenting their outfit
of fully analogue Chicago crumbled house. Their debut on MCDE US dropped in January 2011, rapidly climbing up various dj charts and bestseller lists worldwide. In
March 2012, Amsterdams finest label and collective 'Dekmantel' featured them on their 5th anniversary compilation, alongside shining guests such as Hunee, Skudge,
Redshape and Juju & Jordash. With his mates willFling and Kido Soon he takes care of the monthly clubnight and vinyl-label Praterei, and co-hosts the weekly 313 radioshow
on vienna based radiostation Superfly.
As for the news, in early 2013 he´s rolling out some brandnew artillery on the british Use Of Weapons imprint (courtesy of Deep Space Orchestra), on the Praterei Vinyl #6 (alongside Ethyl, Snuff Crew & Chicago Skyway) and in early spring 2013 another 7 Citizens track will be eternalised on the second label compilation of MCDE US.
Plus much more in the making with british secret sundaze´ darling Ethyl and John Spring of the infamous Italo Johnson trio. Nuff said.
