With beginnings unknown, Blind Foley is rumoured to have made his way to Leith in Edinburgh from his farm in the deep south of Scotland. Avid followers of the music scene in Leith will fondly recall a number of Blind Foley’s historic DJ sets, all committed under the false name of DJ Shambles. Legend has it that Phat Koknoz attended one of these DJ sets and vowed afterwards in an emotionally-charged statement “I will never listen to Dylan again”. After a period in isolation, Blind Foley was tracked down by some white minimal enthusiasts who persuaded him to pick the mouse up and play again.
