Game Music Covers of music that appeared in computer games
This was written for the recent Acidplanet Killzone 3 remix competition. Rather than simply make a dance/techno/dubstep remix, I created this piece from scratch completely (no stems that were provided were used). It uses themes and motifs from the third game and hopefully has the same hectic/crazy feel as Joris De Man's soundtrack.
It's heavily based on the motifs and themes from Joris De Man's Killzone 1/2/3 soundtrack, made from scratch by ear. Similarly to the last Killzone piece, because it's so short the video contains the original piano score that I wrote when I was playing with ideas. The final composition differs slightly in places but is mostly the same. As usual I was trying to get the orchestra sounding as realistic as possible. I was also trying to get some of the synthy-sounds into it.
The usual software was used:
FL Studio 9.9, Kontakt 4.2, Guitar Rig 4, WIVI 2 Brass, Spitfire Harp, Percussion, Symphonic Strings & Great British Brass, Orchestral String Runs, Shreddage, Cinesamples CineOrch, Hollywoodwinds, Deep Percussion Beds & VOXOS, Tonehammer Requiem & Liberis, Project SAM Symphobia 1, Symphobia 2 & True Strike, LA Scoring Strings, Evolve Mutations 1 & 2, various private libraries, my own voice overdubbing the choir.
