‘Anna & the Witch’s Bottle’ is an original and magical work inspired by the fantastical visions and otherworldly vagaries of childhood. Featuring sad, dog-faced waiters, mysterious ships in the sky and barking catfish, Anna is a modern fairytale turned on its head, bringing together the esoteric talents of three creative forces and executed with a rare degree of complicity.
Written by Geoff Cox (Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll) and illustrated by Rohan Daniel Eason, the work is printed in a limited edition of 300 copies, designed by La Boca and issued with sound recordings by Martin Roman Rebelski (Doves).
First edition cloth bound Victorian book featuring bronze foil cover typography with exclusive CD published by Black Maps Press.
‘Witch In A Bottle’ is Martin’s third and most cinematic album to date, drawing influences from Bernard Herrmann, John Cage, The Wizard of Oz and Erik Satie. A collection of instrumental tracks created from prepared piano, orchestral and music box instrumentation, ‘Witch In A Bottle’ realizes a minimalist approach to composition and was released in a limited edition of 300 copies as part of the ‘Anna & the Witch’s Bottle’ book project, a work that it partly inspired.
